NetherFlow: turn silence into song
yo, this is NetherFlow. A free music player for Windows, Linux, Android and Android TV that turns any song into a whole vibe: full songs, lyrics hitting word by word where the song has them, and backgrounds that actually move with the music.
Search any song and it plays the whole thing.
Songs, artists, albums, typos and all. When your list runs out it keeps going with songs like the one playing, in the same language and era, and it learns from what you skip.
These are running live in your browser right now, the same shader code the app uses. There are 27 of them, and in the app they take their colours from the album cover.
Fractal
A kaleidoscopic fractal, six-fold mirrored, folding in on itself forever.
This is it on a PC.
Home over Black Hole, Settings over Aurora, the equalizer over Liquid, and the theme picker. Every song plays at its original loudness, and there's an equalizer and a booster if you want more.
And on your phone.
Android 7.0 and up, and Android TV and Google TV too, worked with the remote. There's a home-screen widget, the lyrics show up on your lock screen and your car's display, and your liked songs save themselves for offline when you're on Wi-Fi.
Every word lands right on the beat. You don't read it, you feel it. Turn silence into song.
The lyrics are synced to the exact recording that's playing, word by word where the song has them. There are 19 ways for them to come in, and Spiral, Helix and Shatter are my favourites. Karaoke mode turns the voice down, and on Windows, Extreme lyrics cut like a music video.
Six themes
One tap and the whole app changes: every button, the colours, the fonts, the cursor, even how the lyrics come in.
Notebook paper and ink, stick figures dancing to the beat, everything drawn by hand.
Windows, Linux and AndroidNew in 1.5.1: better search, playlists you can arrange, and a booster up to 300%.
Search works like the big music apps: the top result beside the first four songs, and artists and albums in rows. Find a song in a playlist as you type, sort it, or drag songs into your own order. And the volume booster goes up to 300% and stays loud without clipping.
Also in there: songs start sooner, lyrics in sync on rap songs, 360 sound that keeps the bass as it is, Play on to pick your speakers or headphones, Interface size, and four looks for the beat on the screen edges. Plus everything from 1.5: NetherFlow's own player, a phone app of about 7 MB, sound tools, Radio, Shuffle, word-by-word lyrics for more songs, and Android Auto, with NetherFlow open on the phone.

Press play.
I came up with what NetherFlow should be, picked every theme and every background, tested every build on my PC and my phone, and kept saying "nah, make it crazier" until it was right. It's free, with no account, no ads of its own and no analytics.
